Minutes From April 2011 Meeting
1. Trip to Ash end children’s farm on 21st april is fully booked. Faye has given out a map and directions to anyone driving but if she has missed you out there are more copies for anyone who needs them.
2. Can anyone who has a profile on childcare.co.uk please mention that they are a member of peace of mind.
3. The childcare search facility on the government website closed at the end of march- thus far Derbyshire have not announced if or when they may replace it.
4. For anyone who is interested in taking on an assistant, we have been contacted by a company who will provide a candidate to be taken on as an apprentice. They will pay for them to gain their qualification as long as we employ them for a minimum of 16 hours a week and pay at a rate of £2.50 per hour. If interested please contact Akhil on 0115 967 8288
5. Sharon Dickson has passed on details of this years Rhyme time event. If anyone wishes to purchase a pack for the event the details are as follows-
The new Bookstart Rhyme Challenge Pack is now available to order. The format is similar to the 2010 pack and consists of a folder containing:
·information and guidance for the practioners,
·a letter for parents,
·a poster and an event poster,
·a double sided rhyme sheet and a single sided rhyme sheet,
·Individual rhyme sheets (10)
·and a family feedback form.
This time there are 40 certificates for the children and one for the setting. The cost of the pack is £6.00 plus £3.99 p&p and there are additional resources available separately to add to these if more are required.

.6 The review of the EYFS has been published and sadly doesn’t seem to have changed much in the way of paperwork. A new copy of the framework is expected September 2012. Anyone interested in looking at the recommendations can find the ones that mainly affect childminders on the NCMA website.
7. Lots for tots- can we kindly ask everyone if you can please ask anyone enquiring about childcare whether they have seen our lots for tots advert, just so we can keep an eye on how effective our advert in there has been.
8. Sports day and teddy bears picnic- Thursday 2nd June (half term) £2 per child for both events. We will have sports day events, a juice, a snack and winners medals and then for lunch we will be holding a teddy bears picnic, so bring your teddy and a picnic! Start time to be confirmed at next meeting, this event is likely to be weather dependant!
9. Cleethorpes trip- Donna wishes to know when everyone is going to be on holiday in August so she can pick the best day for this trip when the majority of us can attend. Please let Donna know ASAP if you haven’t already.
Next meeting at Faye’s house Wednesday 4th May- you may want to bring hot water and towels just in case (only joking!).
