Providing Quality Childcare

WELCOME

´Peace of Mind´ is a group of professional childminders working from our homes in the Long Eaton, Sawley and Sandiacre areas of Nottingham providing quality childcare for families from these and surrounding areas. The location of our homes is ideal for easy access to Junction 25 of the M1 and the A52 to Nottingham and Derby.

We offer care for children from a few weeks of age until their teenage years, thus providing a valuable continuity of care in both environment and carer. From a young age your child will benefit from the security of familiar surroundings and people. Low child to adult ratios result in the childminder giving your child the full attention he/she deserves and enables the childminder to take the children on outings, which encourage your child's emotional and social development.

All of our childminders complete regular ´core´ training courses, required by Ofsted, to enable their Ofsted registration to remain validated. Many childminders voluntarily attend other courses to enhance their expertise enabling them to continue providing you with a high level of service.

Each childminding setting works independently, offering a differing variety of services to you. Some settings provide hot meals; some promote ´nature based´ outings etc. To enable you to decide who may offer the particular type of childcare suitable for your needs each childminder has written a personal profile for the website, promoting their setting and services. This allows you to view the diverse variety of services offered.

There are many common factors amongst the members of our group; we are all registered with Ofsted, enthusiastic about our work and committed to the role of providing flexible, high quality childcare to your family.

We encourage the provision of home based childcare as a personal approach to your child’s needs and sense of belonging, giving you "Peace of Mind"

Testimonial

Mrs Burne, Chloe 6, Toby 2½

"Choosing childcare can be one of the hardest decisions for a working mum. I have always chosen childminders for my 3 children as I find that the children flourish in a home environment, especially the ones that have been at school all day. I have never had any problems and feel totally relaxed knowing that my children are happy"

WHAT IS A CHILDMINDER?

Childminders are self-employed and registered by Ofsted to care for other people's children in their own home. A childminder must comply with 14 standards, which represent a baseline of quality below which no provider may fall. More information can be found by clicking here. In addition to this a childminder also has to be police checked and have passed a first aid course.

Childminders can offer registered full-time, part-time and flexible day care for children between 0 and 8 years and may also care for older children. They may be willing to take and collect from pre-school, nursery and school and to care for school aged children in the holidays. Some childminders offer overnight care and some can offer specialist care for children with additional needs.

Childminders offer a homely setting, in which there will be a maximum of 6 children under 8, no more than 3 of whom will be under 5 and with only one child being under the age of 12 months. The childminders’ own children are included in these ratios.
